Simulation is a means to:

  • represent a system physically and logically
  • understand system behavior over space and time, and
  • assess possible consequences of actions virtually (and visually).

Experiment with, and test, ideas and alternatives before deciding actions and committing resources. Simulation encourages model-based decision making (using models to make better decisions).
